Who is Lynda?

HellooOoOo my friend. 😻
I'm Lynda. My friends call me Lynda Lou, but you may know me as @Lyndadidit. Not only will you find me slaying hair behind the chair, but I'm also a dedicated educator who's committed to finding the best of the best products, techniques, and methods all in hopes that I can continue to expand my horizons with my craft. I do my best to share every ounce of knowledge to all of those who care to listen so that they too can use all of the valuable tools I've gathered. I started out in the industry as a makeup artist, got into nails, then had my heart stolen by hair. It's amazing the amount of people I've watched flourish because of the power they felt within themselves because of their luscious crown.
In my time in the industry with the experience I've gained, I just haven't quite seen anything as impactful as the hair world and what all of these artists are capable of. Watching my mentors has truly opened my eyes to my own worth and capabilities. So many of you have shown me the beauty of what it's like to be a light in another person's life through your support to my craft and career. You have all have unknowingly helped guide me to what I know I ultimately want to do with my career and that's to continue to be a bright light to all of those who need it. It's a crazy, crazy world for all stylists and clients alike...
With that being said, mental health is something that is very highly valued in my chair. Rewind to Spring 2020, I went in a total wormhole of bettering my mental health and honing in on old toxic traits and behaviors I knew weren't serving me anymore. To my surprise, I began to progress! I was in total disbelief considering I was teen mother having my eldest child at the age of 15, losing my little brother 2 short months later, and surviving what seemed like mountains of heavy trauma. Fast forward to October 2021, I had my first identifiable seizure. I was in Las Vegas with my family visiting my mom for her birthday during Halloween weekend. I woke up Halloween morning with stroke-like symptoms with no high blood pressure. A few days later, I had my first Tonic Clonic (Grand Mal) seizure right in my safe haven: the salon. When that happened, I wasn't sure what I'd do next. I was sure everything I had ever wanted was well beyond my reach. I found myself in a rapid downward spiral that led me to a whole new world of life lessons I never thought I'd be faced with. When I tell you I wouldn't be where I am right now without the love and support I have through my family, friends, and fellow artists- I truly mean that. It was their love and light that helped guide me into a headspace where I could finally begin to clear the heavy fog. They gave me space to heal and loved me as hard as they possibly could. That's why it's incredibly important to me to be able to create a space where all of my hair babes can grow and thrive with me through the beautiful craft of hair. You will always have a safe space in my chair and you will always find me in your corner rooting for you.
As of January 11th, 2024 I am officially seizure free and medication free!
Let's get PERSONAL.
You have an idea of what I'm passionate about, but there's so much more to what makes me who I am. Aside from the surface facts like my obsession with stickers and anime, I ultimately am a lover of all things art. I dabble in many different forms of it. I love painting, drawing, singing, dancing, poetry, acting... But if I'm being totally truthful, I view almost all aspects of life as some form of art. I think it's my brain's way of tolerating life's daily trials lol.
Speaking of life's daily trials, I have 3 beautiful (VERY goofy) children and a loving husband who does everything he can to support me and my career. You'll see Carlos (the hubby) throughout my social media such as Instagram and TikTok. When I tell you this man will bust in down into a lil' dancey-dance just to help add razzle-dazzle to my hairtoks/reels, he gives it 100% every time. He's so sweet, caring, and all around just an awesome guy. If you've had the chance to meet him you know exactly what I'm talking about.
As you read above, I did have my oldest child at the age of 15. Her name is Arianna and she inspires me every single day. Our journey together has been so enlightening. I am everything I am thanks to that sweet angel of a child. It's because of her that I strive to be so much more than any statistic said I could. When I had her, I knew I had a mission to not only her and my other 2 kids Ein and Violet, but to every other person who has found themselves in similar shoes: You are not the labels that life hands you. I'm now in my late 20's living the life a a literal 40 year old, but I refuse to allow any circumstances to stop me. FORGET all of the nay-sayers who tried to tell you no. All the haters who said you could never be more than your circumstances. It's simply not true... So long as you allow yourself to, you can move mountains.
As a mother to a trans boy and as an openly pan person, I welcome all folks in the alphabet mafia. My pronouns are she/her, they/them. The entire salon is a safe and friendly space for all members of the queer community. I will always choose to surround myself with like-minded individuals who choose love and light. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🌈💕
